[Herpetology • 2000] Philautus erythrophthalmus • Red-eyed Bush Frog (Rhacophoridae) from southwestern Sabah, Malaysia


Philautus erythrophthalmus Stuebing & Wong, 2000

a species of frog in the Rhacophoridae family. It is endemic to Malaysia. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montanes. It is threatened by habitat loss.
Type locality: "Mt. Muruk Mio, Sipitang District, Sabah (FPS: 4° 22.715´ N, 115° 50.125´ E)", Malaysia.
Holotype: SMM AMP 2521.


Philautus erythrophthalmus
Locality: Sarawak, Malaysia
Description: A tiny bush frog calls from its perch in the Bornean rainforest.
